The Getaway
"The Getaway" is a spacious, self-contained, air-conditioned, studio apartment, fully furnished with all
amenities to hand. Situated on the ground floor of a gated, holiday home complex, comprising
apartments and villas, it is set in a beautifully landscaped environment with 24 hour manned security. An aesthetically designed, illuminated swimming pool completes the picture.
The flat opens out onto a view of the Baga-Anjuna hill less than a kilometre away. Just over the hill
is a very private and secluded beach that forms the southern edge of the famed Anjuna stretch.
An approximate five minute drive leads on to the tourist strip of Baga and Calangute beaches, packed as it is with restaurants, bars and shops to suit all tastes.
There is a private sit-out with two chairs in front of the apartment where one can sit and soak in the tranquillity of the
surroundings, punctuated by a variety of bird calls especially in the mornings and at sunset.
Situated within a stone's throw from the apartment is a very popular French bakery, the Baba-au-Rhum. A little further away is the Baga River stretch with a variety of top-end restaurants along the river bank catering from French to German to Chinese to Mexican cuisine. This is in addition to the many other myriads of restaurants around, specialising in local flavours.
A two minute drive in either direction leads one to the famed Ingo's Saturday Nite Market or its
smaller cousin Mackie's. Club Cubana or "The Nightclub in the Sky" as it is called, is just around the corner.
So whether one is looking for tranquillity and quietness or an action-filled time, its all here and never too far away.
General description
The apartment consists of a large room opening out onto a sit-out overlooking the garden area
with a partial view of the hills beyond.
It is equipped with two single beds with spring mattresses, a bedside table, two single-seater sofas and a small centre table. A glass dining table to seat three, a wall-hung mirror with a dresser below.
Also fitted is a complete modular kitchen fitted with - front loading washing machine, four burner self-igniting gas hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, four slice toaster, electric kettle and a full set of crockery, cutlery and utensils.
The room is also equipped with an electrical water filter which dispenses with the need of buying bottled water.
The apartment has an inverter fitted which supplies power to two lights and a fan for approximately four-six hours in the event of a power outage. An iron with ironing board is provided and a wall-fitted electronic safe.
The air-conditioning unit is an outside split version for quiet operation. The other items are a ceiling fan, TV and DVD player.
In the en-suite bathroom there is a wall hung western style wc, unlimited hot water supplied through solar heaters, and a glass shower cubicle.
